About Us

It is our pleasure to cordially welcome you to our practice. We would like you to know that we are dedicated to serving your needs by striving for quality results. We are a patient-centered team that is interested in you and what you have to say.

Our patients come to us seeking a good-looking smile, well aligned teeth and a comfortable bite that only modern orthodontics can provide for both youth and adults. Treatment is customized for each individual based on factors such as age, condition of teeth, jaw structure, and facial-esthetics. We carefully consider how jaw joints and chewing muscles function.

Orthodontic treatment programs vary widely. One person might need a single tooth realigned, while another may require a two year plan to establish a proper bite relationship. Most patients that need braces have treatment that last between one to three years. We use a variety of treatment approaches including removable retainer-type appliances, traditional stainless steel braces, porcelain tooth-colored braces, and Invisalign.

We work with your family dentist to provide the best treatment for your bite, teeth, and gums. We strive to assure that you are well-informed of any orthodontic problems, that your highest health priorities are respected in generating treatment options and that you are comfortable with all arrangements before beginning treatment.

As a service to our patients we participate with most insurance plans. We also offer a wide range of interest free payment options and accept most major credit cards.

Dr. James Dee Jr.

Dr. James Dee is a lifelong resident of the Pittsburgh area. He grew up in the tiny borough of West Homestead, attended St. Therese Elementary School and Bishop Boyle High School. He continued his formal education at the University of Pittsburgh earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Master of Higher Education (M.Ed.) and Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degrees. Following Dental School, he completed the three year Specialty Residency in Orthodontics at Pitt, and has since practiced exclusively as an Orthodontic Specialist. Dr. Dee served in the U.S. Navy Dental Corp. (reserve officer), on the faculty of the Orthodontic department at Pitt, has been an officer in local dental societies, and has served in the community on the board of directors of St. Peter’s Child Development Centers.

Dr. Dee is an active member of: The American Association of Orthodontists, The Great Lakes, Pennsylvania State and Western Pennsylvania Societies of Orthodontics. He was recently elected to membership in the World Federation of Orthodontics.

Dr. Dee and his wife Kathleen now live in Churchill. They enjoy golf, snow skiing and travel in their leisure time.

Dr. Robert R. Mortimer

Dr. Mortimer is also a lifelong resident of the Pittsburgh area. He attended Baldwin High School , Bethany College and the University of Pittsburgh of Dental Medicine. Dr. Mortimer was the recipient of one of Dentistry’s most prestigious awards, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the Dental Honorary Society. Dr. Mortimer then completed a General Practice Residency at Montefiore Hospital where he focused on surgical orthodontics. He completed his Orthodontic Residency in 1990 and has practiced Orthodontics exclusively since that time. Dr. Mortimer returned to Pitt as an Associate Clinical Professor of Graduate Orthodontics providing didactic and clinical instruction.

Dr. Mortimer, like Dr. Dee, maintains the continuous pursuit of education as they both travel throughout the country attending continuing education courses. Both doctors work diligently to be on the cutting edge of technological advancements in Orthodontics and Dentistry while maintaining the fundamentals of their classic educations.

Dr. Mortimer is also an active member of: The American Association of Orthodontics, and the Great Lakes, Pennsylvania State, and Western Pennsylvania Society of Orthodontics.

Dr. Mortimer resides in Murrysville with his wife and their three boys. He enjoys golf, platform tennis, swimming, cooking and following his boys’ activities.
